Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Family + Wood}
This a wonderful family photo taken by the very talented Mr. Matthew Lambert about 15 months ago. Yah, a bit of a throwback, but how fitting it is in the "family" frame for this "family" photo prompt?
Day 30: Wood
As Amar'e gets older we are replacing her (plastic) toys she in no longer interested in with thrifted or wonderfully gifted wood toys. We couldn't be more lucky to have received such support in this area. Whenever family gives her a gift is it aways something wooden and wonderful. One of her gift she got for Christmas was a wooden kitchen. All around awesome!! We couldn't be more thankful!

Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Land}
I know it doesn't look like much, but this little piece of land will be our garden when the weather allows. We tried to garden last year for the first time, and lets just say we learned a lot of what not to do. This year we plan to give this garden a lot of time and attention, which will be possible due to different schedules we have this year vs. last year. It would be nice to be able to use our own home grown vegetables in our homemade meals. Last year we made a huge mistake and didn't consider the shading of the trees surrounding the land. Most of the garden was covered in shadow from these trees. I am hoping this year we can plan around this, and place the garden in a optimum location for great sunlight. We plan on watering the garden using only rain water we catch in a homemade rain barrel or two. It is amazing how much rain you can collect in those things! That black box you see out there is our compost bin. I just can't wait to start throwing kitchen scraps in it again.
I am open to any gardening tips if anyone has them! We can use all the help/advice we can get!

After an afternoon of baking lots of cookies, having tea parties, and making soup, this is what happens.

Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Stone}
I got this little bottle of {Magic} Stones from a craft fair we attended in December. I didn't really have much of a purpose for them other than to be decoration I guess. I don't know what drew me to them. Probably the brightly colored stones and the adorable glass bottle. Luckily they were only $2! Win-win.

Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Earth}
This is not to be confused with bird's eye. This is what the earth looks likes all around us. The snow is slowly melting away to reveal the beauty that lies underneath. This theme is also extremely fitting for my actions today. As I was cruising some of my favorite vegan blogs, I found a resource page on one of them of great books, movies, and other vegan blogs. The film at the top of the movie list was Earthlings. I've heard of this film, but have not checked it out yet. Feeling I've seen enough to never consume animals again, I didn't have the desire to watch it. But, something inside of me told me I needed to see it. Knowing that I might react in the same manner as I did when I saw a few other shorter films about the subject (which was a bit of a breakdown), I was really hesitant despite that little voice urging me on. Finally, palms sweating, heart racing, I hit the play button. I can honestly say I am forever changed. Much more moved, aware, heart broken, and shocked. I knew it was bad, but seeing it in this unbiased manner made it even more real. I truly believe that if someone chooses to consume animals, they should be fully informed on what that entails. I encourage you to do your own research on where your food/clothing/entertainment is coming from. Yes, it is a personal choice, but when that choice impacts the Earth that we all share, then it become a little more personal. These are not isolated cases, this is real life of all animals across the globe, everywhere, all the time. As far as we know there is only one Earth. One sacred place where life flourishes for living beings, and yet humans choose to make this hell on earth for some. Why?
In other new, I am over the moon to announce that I have my very first sponsor! It is Krysta from fairytalecomesalive! Please fly on over to her blog and leave her, and her adorable son, some love! Thanks so much Krysta, happy to have you on board!

Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Spring + Renew}
Day 20: Spring
This may not look like spring to most of you, but here in northern NH this is a sure sight that spring is here. There is nothing better than pure maple syrup. But my ultimate favorite sweet treat is maple taffy. If you've never tried maple taffy, that is fresh and homemade, do yourself a favor and put this on your bucket list! This is what spring looks like. I was even lucky enough to be able to get a tour of the sugar house. Pretty sweet! ;)
Day 21: Renew
This photo prompt was a little difficult for me. I couldn't really find a picture that would depict renew. Amar'e and I took a short walk today because the sun was shining and the snow was melting. Perfect time to jump in the puddles of wa wa (water). I was digging inside every creative nook and carney inside my head, and still nothing that said "renew" came to mind. So I held the camera up over my head and took this picture.

Mama Earth Project~A Photo A Day In March {Roots}
Yes, I know that this post is not very exciting. I am having to get really creative with this project that I am doing because I can't just go outside and find roots, grass, green, animals under a foot of snow.* So I have to get a little creative and work with what I have. Here we have the roots of my dead rosemary plant. I was doing so good with it, and then it took a turn for the worst. I finally got around to putting in the compost bag on the porch, but not before getting a picture of the roots.
*If anyone cares, we are getting more snow tonight. They are predicting 12-15 inches. Someone please come and save me from this act of terrorism. I can't handle more snow or cold. Anytime now spring, anytime!
In other news: I am very excited to announce that Perfect Imperfections is now accepting sponsors! Yes, we are set up and ready! To find out more information about sponsorship please visit my sponsor page!
